JCAA Annual Meeting on October 4 Features Awards, Election and Jewish Council for Public Affairs CEO

Rabbi Steve Gutow, a rabbi, lawyer, community activist and Jewish leader with deep Texas roots will address the 2011 JCAA Annual Meeting. He currently serves as the President and CEO of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA), the national coordinating and advisory body for the 14 national and 125 local agencies comprising the field of Jewish community relations.

The Jewish Community Association of Austin (JCAA), the 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation of the Jewish Federation, Jewish Community Center, Jewish Family Service and Jewish Community Relations Council will hold its 2011 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the JCC Community Hall.

The JCAA has approved the following slate of 2011-12 Officers and Directors:

The Nominating Committee included Diana Ginor (Chair), Dana Baruch, David Brenner, Audrey Maislin, Val Newberg and Michael Solka.

Additional Term 1 Year 1 At-Large Director nominations must be submitted by petition with a minimum of thirty-six signatures by members in good standing to the attention of Dana Epstein, JCAA, 7300 Hart Lane, Austin, Texas 78731 no later than September 19.

A member is defined as any Jewish person, or member of a Jewish household, who is 18 years of age or over, residing in the area served by the JCAA, and has made a contribution of $18 or more to the Jewish Federation of Greater Austin Annual Campaign during the current or previous fiscal year.

Members are invited to vote on the appointment of new Directors and any other business transacted at the JCAA Annual Meeting scheduled on Tuesday, October 4 at 7 PM in the JCC Community Hall.

The 2011 JCAA Annual Meeting also will feature community awards and honors, a presentation by Rabbi Steve Gutow, President and CEO of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, and a kosher dairy and pareve dessert reception.
