Since public gatherings are currently unadvisable, the AJBN has moved activities to the organization’s Facebook group. Those activities include discussions, mentorships, job postings, sharing business information and business opportunities. There are also live, online events, including virtual happy hours, informational speakers, and discussions.

Oct. 13 at 7 p.m., Michelle Feibus, a Medicare independent sales agent, will be presenting “Navigating Medicare 101.” Attendees of this seminar will learn the latest in Medicare planning to assist them or their parents in retirement planning. To attend, people must join the AJBN Facebook group and RSVP for the talk. Once the RSVP is received, a link and password for the Zoom call will be sent.

Navigating the ins and outs of Medicare planning can be a daunting task. Those who are turning 65, retiring soon, or have family members who are and may need help, Feibus’ Medicare educational presentation could be helpful. Feibus will address such topics as: Who needs to sign up for Medicare? How can penalties be avoided? What are Parts A, B, C, D of Medicare? What’s the difference between a Medicare Supplement and a Medicare Advantage plan? Impact of HSA plan and COBRA with Medicare?

Feibus is known as “The Medicare Superwoman” for her knowledge and genuine interest in helping people navigate the complex world of Medicare. Her free advice through speaking engagements and personal one-on-one help have earned her a reputation as a trusted and valuable resource to her clients as well as financial and legal professionals throughout Texas. Feibus is an Austin based licensed sales agent whose goal is to clear up the confusion surrounding Medicare to provide people with peace of mind. She has been honored to present this topic’s information at the Austin TXCPA, in a University of Texas Informal class, and at senior events throughout the area.

Feibus has a Bachelor of Arts in communications from Rutgers University.

When not assisting others with their Medicare planning, Feibus is a financial literacy volunteer, a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace coordinator, and she enjoys traveling, pickleball and her two grandsons.

Formed in 1988 with more than 800 members, the Austin Jewish Business Network is Austin’s oldest Jewish business networking group.

The AJBN invites all Jews, those partnered with Jews or members of the JCC, including people in all fields, professions, people hiring, people looking for work, people providing services, entrepreneurs, those who work for others, those new in town or who have been living here and those interested in meeting new people to connect with the group on Facebook at facebook.com/groups/AustinJewishBusinessNetwork. AJBN is the key to cultivating employees, clients, jobs, business relationships, contacts, friends, knowledge and special offers.

Join the AJBN at monthly meetings, which will resume once COVID-19 is under control, for networking, socializing, eating and drinking. Events include mixers and happy hours with sponsors who provide refreshments, and sometimes door prizes, dinners and guest speakers.

In-person meetings are the third Tuesday monthly, with some exceptions for holidays. Times and locations vary, so follow the posts in the Facebook Group. Cost: Free to attend.

To offer a venue where we may meet, door prizes, and for questions, contact Jody Lockshin at Jody@HabitatHunters.com. ■
