Avoiding Sunburns in Our New Reality: Lessons from the SolarWinds Breach

6:15-6:30 PM | Mingling + Networking
6:30-7:30 PM | Presentation + Q&A

On December 12, 2020, the tech world was rocked by the news that SolarWinds, the Network Performance Monitoring market leader, had suffered a major security breach of its software build system. Over time, it became clear this was the largest hack of a software vendor by a foreign state in US history. The details of what really happened are still unclear – obscured by a never-ending fog of inaccuracies, false narratives, and hype. While “what happened” may seem like a compelling story to explore, for most folks in tech, business, and cybersecurity this situation is overshadowed by a far more important question: “What can we learn, and how can we prevent similar events in the future?” In this 1 hour session, Jason Carrier and Leon Adato will explore the lessons the SolarWinds breach holds for business leaders and IT professionals alike.
