Collecting & Preserving Your Family History

November 8 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

with Kyra Schuster, Curator at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

Join us on Zoom for a discussion on how to find and gather physical artifacts, capture testimony, and trace family history…and how to care for it all. There will be plenty of time for questions.

Curator Kyra Schuster joined the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum staff in 1994 and her primary role is acquiring new materials for the permanent collection. She was a key member of the curatorial team that created the Museum’s “The Nuremberg Trials: What is Justice?” exhibit which was on view at the Museum from 2005-2015, has served as exhibition coordinator for several other special exhibitions, been a featured guest on the Museum’s Facebook Live series, and has written multiple articles for the Museum’s online Holocaust Encyclopedia. Representing both the Museum and the United States, Kyra has presented at multiple international conferences on Holocaust art, the proceedings of which were subsequently published. She appeared in the National Geographic Channel’s Emmy nominated documentary about the 350 American POWs sent to the Berga concentration camp, and was one of the featured speakers during the Museum’s 20th Anniversary Commemorative National Tour.
