Joy Nathan, Executive Director of The Holocaust, Genocide, Anti-Semitism Advisory Commission will speak about the mission and work of this state agency. It is state law (SB1828) for school districts to teach about the Holocaust during Holocaust Remembrance Week, and the state Commission offers a variety of resources, curricula materials and best practices to help school meet this requirement. There are lesson plans and resources available for learning about Anti semitism. Additionally every 2 years, the Commission carries out a study of Anti-Semistism in Texas and recommends steps to state leaders to combat it.
