About Ghaida Rinawie Zoabi

Ghaida Rinawie Zoabi was born in Nazareth. She received a degree in Hebrew literature and psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and later earned a master’s degree from the University of Haifa. She is the founder of Injaz, the Centre for Professional Arab Local Governance. She was named one of the 100 most influential people in Israel in 2011, and Forbes listed her as one of the 50 most important women in the Israeli economy in 2018.

She was just elected to the Israeli Knesset as a member of the Meretz party. She recently stated, “I am an Arab Palestinian who lives in Israel and whose family has lived here for centuries. We lost almost everything in 1948. But I am not here to dwell on the past, and I am not a victim…A lasting peace agreement between Israel and Palestinians is possible.”
