WELCOME BACK

We are excited to welcome our members back to the Shalom Austin JCC! The fitness center and outdoor spaces are now open by reservation onlyDaily we welcome more members back to their home away from home. Join us in our fitness center, gymnasium, group fitness classes and outdoor spaces.

What You Need to Know

The J is currently open to members only. No guests please. Due to our current health and safety protocols, we ask that all members 15-years-old and younger have a parent or a responsible adult with them when they use the facilities. Please read the information below to ensure a smooth process for your return to our campus!

Reservations
  • Reservations are required. Reservations will be limited to one per member per day. Can’t make it? Please remember to cancel so someone else can have that space.
  • Kids Club Babysitting is currently closed. Looking for childcare options? Contact our Early Childhood Program.
What to bring
  • Please bring your own towel(s) and small sweat towels. Towel service is currently suspended.
  • Lockers and showers will be closed. Please limit the belongings you bring to the J.
When you arrive
  • Access the JCC through our main entrance, by the flagpoles.
  • Wellness screenings are required to enter the building.
  • Masks will be required at all times indoors.

Pool Closure

As a necessary step to begin construction on our exciting new Rochelle & Stanley Ferdman Family Aquatic Center, we will be closing the pool beginning Monday, November 2, 2020 until summer 2021. All swim programs have been suspended.

The fitness center, group fitness classes, gymnasium and Gan Yaniv Nature Trail will remain open during this time, and we hope to see you there!

New Entrance

During construction, beginning November 2, we will have a new entrance for the fitness center through the main JCC doors by the flag poles

As indicated on the map, the new entrance will have two separate walkways to ensure adult JCC members and children enter safely and keep socially distant from other members and children who will be sharing the walkway. Please follow the signs and enter on the left side of the walkway straight into the main JCC doors.
The right side is reserved for youth program access. 

For optimal parking to access the new fitness center entrance, please use the main parking lot east of the circle drive, as indicated on the map below.  You will still complete a health screening and checkin with your member key tag at our new welcome desk just inside the main entrance.  You will still have access to all of your usual equipment and spaces! 

 

RESERVATIONS

Make a Reservation

For your safety, space will be limited at the J but our new online reservation system will make it easy to ensure there’s a spot for you when you are ready to come in. Please book your spot ahead of time online. Reservations are first come, first serve and limited to one per member per day. If you can’t make it, please remember to cancel so someone else can have your space.

  • Book classes – Outdoor Bootcamp, Power Dance and Strength Fusion (just for starters!)

Terms of Service

As part of our reopening effort, we have updated the agreements we require for our memberships. Our updated Terms of Service includes the Liability Waiver, COVID-19 Addendum, Code of Conduct, and Membership / Sports & Fitness Complex Policies.

At your earliest convenience, please review the agreement linked below and acknowledge it by signing. You will not be able to check in at our facility until we have obtained a signature.

Fitness Center

Our fitness equipment has been spread throughout the fitness center and gymnasium to ensure maximum space for social distancing.

Each room has a designated room capacity, but we are not limiting members to specific spaces. Please be cognizant of the posted room occupancy, and adhere to all guidelines and population limits.

Basketball on Court

Gymnasium

Members can reserve time in the open gym time 7 days a week! Open Gym is now open for households. A household is anyone on the same membership unit – so spouses or parents with their kids, but no cousins or besties. It’s not 5 on 5 yet, but baby steps. Masks are required at all times. No balls or equipment will be provided. Reservations are required.

Outdoor Spaces

Nature Trail

The beautiful outdoor crushed granite jogging trail winds its way through woods and past the meditation garden. It is a great place to walk or jog while maintaining social distance! For easy access, park in the spaces alongside the fence near the guard booth. After parking, report to the gate and wait there until the guard checks you in and admits you to the trail. You will enter to trail from the pedestrian gate near the booth. 

Gan Yaniv Garden

The Gan Yaniv loop is .25 miles in length. Please stay on the path and do not cross any fences or barriers that are erected.

Due to construction of the new Hurt Family Tennis Center (Opening Summer 2021), the fields and main nature trail loops are temporarily closed. The 6 lit courts will include lines for adult and youth tennis and pickleball. With private and group lessons, camps, clinics, leagues and social tournaments available, everyone at any skill level can enjoy the courts.
