Jewish Community Endowment Fund Grant

The Jewish Foundation of Austin & Central Texas is a branch of Shalom Austin with a mission to serve as a center for Jewish philanthropy by partnering with donors and community organizations to fulfill their philanthropic goals and to sustain a vibrant and secure Jewish community now and in perpetuity.

The Jewish Community Endowment Fund is held by the Austin Community Foundation and is intended to support and enhance the Jewish community of Austin and central Texas. Shalom Austin, through the Jewish Foundation, directs the award of available Endowment Fund dollars.

Purpose:

The purpose of the Jewish Community Endowment Fund Grant is to fund programs and projects that support or enhance the Jewish community of Austin and Central Texas.

Eligibility:

Funding from The Jewish Community Endowment Fund Grants is limited to organizations that are:

  • Recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt by the IRS
  • Organizationally independent of Shalom Austin

Funds are not available for:

  • Educational scholarships
  • Gifts to endowments

Grants will be limited to one per organization (only one per Tax ID number).

Application:

To apply for a Jewish Community Endowment Fund grant:

  • Print this application form complete the form and submit to nicole.kirksey@shalomaustin.org.
  • Attach to the application:
    • Your organization’s IRS tax-exempt determination letter
    • A copy of your organization’s most recent IRS Form 990
    • A copy of your organization’s most recent audited or unaudited financial statement

Applications are due May 30, 2019.

Awards are expected to be announced in June 2019.
