Broadway’s “Jew”-kbox Musicals

On Broadway, the term "jukebox musical" refers to a show whose music is made up of hits by a given artist. In this lecture series, we take this concept one step further, as Austin Jewish Repertory Theater Artistic Director Adam Roberts examines five jukebox musicals with story lines by or about influential Jewish figures of popular music: Leader of the Pack (Ellie Greenwich), Beautiful (Carole King), Smokey Joe's Cafe (Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller), and The Times They Are a-Changin' (Bob Dylan). For more information, contact Annie Skelton at 512-735-8088 or Meets in JCC Room 150D. $3 donation suggested at the door to help defray cost of program.
