Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I begin?
First, reflect on your priorities. What important work do you want to support? Perhaps you want to help senior adults in our community or support Jewish education. Perhaps you may want to endow your Annual Campaign gift to the Jewish Federation of Greater Austin, or, for example,  fund a particular Jewish Community Center, Jewish Family Service, Jewish day school, or synagogue  program.

Where does my journey start?
A good place to start the conversation is with your Foundation professional, a trusted philanthropic steward with a deep knowledge of the local and global Jewish community. This professional will help you structure your gift to suit your personal philanthropic desires.

Who can receive gifts through the Foundation?
Your gift can support any 501(c)(3) nonprofit program or institution that is close to your heart. The beauty of a contribution to the Jewish Foundation is that you can donate cash or stock to create a fund for today or make a bequest for the future, and benefit generations to come.

How do I structure my gift?
Gifts can be arranged in several ways. Gifts made today can be in the form of cash or stock, life insurance policies, retirement plans, personal property or real estate. You may also choose to make a gift from your estate through your will.

Can my professional advisors be involved?
We can work with you and your professional advisors such as attorneys, accountants or financial planners to plan your gift in a way that furthers your unique financial and charitable goals. We are available to meet and consult with your advisors throughout the process. For more information and to schedule a meeting, email jfact@shalomaustin.org or call (512)735-8010.
