Meet the JCC Youth & Teen Department


Jessica Ochs — Youth and Teen Director

Jessica is responsible for all K-12 programming, including JCamps, Kids Connection, Yom Kef Days, BBYO, and much more!  She is also the Camp Shalom and Tiyul Director and has previously served as the Shalom Austin Youth Coordinator for 4 years.  Jessica joined the Shalom Austin Youth and Teen team as a Camp Shalom counselor and Kids Connection Head Counselor in 2012.  

Jessica is a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, with a minor in Mathematics and certifications in Special Education and Bilingual Education.  In 2015, she was accepted to the Inaugural Cohort of the Foundation of Jewish Camp’s Davidson School Inclusion Community of Practice, part of her continuing education as a Jewish camp professional. Jessica has over 20 years of experience working with children in camp and school settings.  She has served in roles as both an educator and an administrator in New Jersey, Arizona, and Texas.  Jessica is excited to have the opportunity to combine her experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm to create a fun and educational program here at Shalom Austin.

 Robyn Burch — Rapoport Center Administrative Assistant

Robyn is the Youth and Teen Engagement Coordinator. She is the point person for JCamps, Kids Connection and Break Camps. She also helps with outreach for JCamps and some administrative work for The Rapoport Center Team.  Born and raised in Dallas, she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education studying Recreation and Sport Management at the University of Arkansas. She moved back to Texas and earned a Master’s Degree in Education at Texas State University focusing on Physical Education. She spent 17 summers at Camp Champions in Marble Falls, TX starting as a camper and growing into other positions where finally she became the Office Manager from 2013 to 2016. Robyn loves everything about camp; the relationships that are built, the feeling of independence, and being able to truly be yourself. She looks forward to sharing her passion with our Shalom Austin families.

Alexa Rosenblat — Youth Manager

Alexa is responsible for overseeing all Youth Programming (grades Kindergarten through 5th grade) including Kids Connection, Camp Shalom, Yom Kefs and Spring Break Camp. Born and raised in Michigan, Alexa graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation. Alexa was drawn to camp settings and found her way to Texas where she began working at Camp Aranzazu in Rockport, Texas where she programmed intentional and therapeutic camp activities for children and adults with special needs and chronic illnesses. After four summers, Alexa moved to Austin to continue programming and advocating for the magic of camp! She is so excited to enjoy Austin and belong to the Shalom Austin community.
