JFS – Landing in Austin: Rights, Accommodations, and Modifications Navigating the Austin Education System

Did you know? Children with ADHD, behavioral challenges, and learning gaps for various reasons are eligible for accommodations, modifications, and services in the public school system.
On September 14, we will meet for a comprehensive discussion about the Austin education system—what your child is entitled to at school, how to communicate effectively with school staff, when and how to approach the relevant professionals, and what resources and support are available to parents.
Transitioning children into a new school system raises many questions and concerns: How is it different from what we knew before? What rights and accommodations does your child have? How can you ensure continuity in educational support? Who should you talk to at school, and how do you start the process of an evaluation or transferring an existing evaluation?
