JFS Partners with Project Empowering and Employing (EM)
Jewish Family Service is thrilled to begin partnering with Project EM. Project Empowering and Employing (Project EM) is a nationwide, virtual job seeker support platform established by the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies. Project EM aims to give job seekers equal access to employment opportunities, providing all the assistance and tools a jobseeker needs to find work – from job lists to resume writing to career counseling and more. Shalom Austin Jewish Family Service recently began a partnership with Project EM, providing our clients with access to resources throughout the country from the comfort of our client’s homes.
According to the Austin Chamber of Commerce, Austin has made up all of 2020’s pandemic-related job losses and currently has 47,000 more jobs than in February 2020. Here at Shalom Austin JFS, every day, we encounter job seekers who don’t have access to jobs they qualify for due to mental, physical, and technological limitations. Project EM bridges the gap between individuals looking for a job, and employers seeking new employees, providing clients with the tools they need to be successful.
Job seekers may join Project EM’s interactive workshops, technical skills training, financial literacy sessions, stress reduction classes, and more. These virtual experiences are here to help develop skills, grow as a professional, and showcase the best job seekers have to offer. Once an individual registers with Project EM, they will be connected to an expert career consultant, who will assist them in navigating the job search process offering individualized career counseling and tailored support.
Are you ready to join Project EM or refer a friend to these wonderful resources? Click HERE to embark on your employment journey. You will have an option to sign up for personalized support or explore their workshops to gain valuable training, depending on your individual needs.
In addition to this new job resource, the Shalom Austin JFS Case Management team is here to offer you local support throughout your employment journey. We are here to support those experiencing food, housing, and financial insecurities. Case managers assist community members with services and resources for individuals of all ages.
