In Judaism, it’s all about community. We come together to remember our history, mourn our losses, celebrate our culture, and dream of our future. This is highlighted beautifully in the spring, and we invite you to join the Shalom Austin community as we mark Yom HaShoah, Yom HaZikaron, and Yom HaAtzmaut.
Yoms Educational Electives
Join us for an evening of learning and choose from a variety of classes related to Yom HaShoah, Yom HaZikaron, and Yom HaAtzmaut!
You will be able to choose one class from 6-6:45 PM and one class from 7-7:45 PM, offered by our wonderful community clergy and educators.

Yom HaShoah Remembrance Event
Join us for Holocaust Remembrance Day at the 2024 Shalom Austin Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance Event hosted and organized by Phil Klein. The program includes guest speakers, inspiring video montages, vocal soloists with piano accompaniment, and a special candle-lighting ceremony. Content is appropriate for children 10 and older.

Yom HaZikaron Community Ceremony
This year, more than ever, it is important to stand together with our community for Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day, for those who lost their lives in the struggle that led to the establishment of the State of Israel, all military personnel who were killed while in active duty in Israel’s armed forces, and all victims of terror attacks.
It is customary to wear a white top on Yom HaZikaron. We invite you to join in this custom.

Yom HaAtzmaut Community Celebration
Join this community-wide event for fun, food, and friendly faces to celebrate Israel’s birthday! Stop by when you can, stay as long as you’d like, and wear blue & white to make the day extra special. This is an event for the whole family to enjoy! Activities, musical performances, and more! Israeli food will be available for purchase.
This event will take place rain or shine.
