Post 757 of the Jewish War Veterans remains an active part of Austin and Shalom Austin despite these difficult times. The Post recently received a ‘Post Growth Award’ for the greatest increase in large Post membership nationwide, competing among more than 50 similar posts. The Post also recently received a mini-grant from Shalom Austin for their community based projects they performed despite the pandemic.

Among those projects is the Veterans Day live flag raising at the Jewish Community Center on November 11. The public was invited. The ceremony, which honors veterans worldwide, was held at 11:00 a.m. at the JCC flagpoles on the Dell Jewish Community Campus, and it featured Post 757’s honor guard and chaplain. A special tribute was rendered to America’s men and women who served in the past and are now serving worldwide. ■
