On September 14, 2023, the Jewish community was honored in Cedar Park, Texas. Cedar Park Mayor James Penniman-Morin signed the Rosh Hashanah Proclamation, honoring the Jewish New Year. As part of the Proclamation stated, “Cedar Park is enriched and strengthened by the many varied cultural traditions of our diverse population, including many members of the Jewish faith, who we wish a very happy New Year.”

“The City of Cedar Park recognized two other faith traditions the past two years and it was a very special moment for the Jewish faith to be honored as well,” said Rabbi Cantor Marie Betcher who accepted the Proclamation, spoke to the City Council about the Jewish community and gave the invocation. “It was a very sentimental moment and one that I’ve been working for almost 20 years to achieve!”
