Winston Churchill once said – “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”. That prevailing feeling was felt last week, when 20 Passover baskets, prepared by the 8th-grade Israeli scouts’ (Tzofim) chapter in Austin Shevet Keren, were handed out to Jewish Family Service, to be delivered to people in need in our Jewish community.

The baskets were purchased with generous donations, collected from parents of Shevet Keren members, the Israeli community in Austin, and funds from Shevet Keren.

Dali Litinski and Yaron Kovatch, the co-heads of Shevet Keren said: “We want to convey special thanks to the wonderful 8th-grade scouts who helped raise the funds, decorated, and packed the baskets. It warmed our hearts to see their dedication. The importance of donating the baskets is not only in helping others but also in giving back to the Jewish community in Austin, which has been supporting us since the Shevet establishment. This shows that Shevet Keren is an essential and inseparable part of the community.”
