The Hostage and Missing Families Forum “Shavuot of Longing” Cookbook
The Hostage and Missing Families Forum, a volunteer organization formed by the families of the abductees of the horrific attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, have created the “Shavuot of Longing” cookbook. Shavuot is a Jewish holiday that celebrates the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai. This year, Shavuot begins at sundown on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 and runs through sundown Thursday, June 13, 2024.
The “Shavuot of Longing” cookbook is filled with recipes loved by the hostages, accompanied by their personal stories. The Hostage and Missing Families Forum aims to spread this heartfelt recipe book to raise awareness and support for their return. All proceeds from the cookbook sales will go back to the Families Forum to help the hostages.
The “Shavuot of Longing” cookbook seeks to:
- Honor the connection between food, family, and longing for loved ones.
- Raise awareness about the plight of the hostages and their families.
- Generate funds to support the efforts of the Hostage and Missing Families Forum.
The 180-page cookbook contains 75 most beloved recipes.
