Community Submissions

Submit your events and articles to be shared with the community through Shalom Austin’s platforms.

All submissions are reviewed by and accepted at the discretion of the Shalom Austin marketing and communications department. We regret that we are unable to respond to everyone or run every story or post every event, but we do read all submissions.

Community Calendar

Submit your community event to be included on the Shalom Austin Community Calendar on this website.

This calendar is not only used to share upcoming events with the community, it can also be used as a planning tool when scheduling your event. Therefore, we also accept save-the-dates for an event happening far in advance. This is a good way to hold the date on the calendar for the community and other organizations to see.

The Jewish Outlook Newspaper

Submit your article or story ideas to be included in Shalom Austin’s quarterly newspaper, The Jewish Outlook, which publishes in March, July, September and December. The Jewish Outlook also welcomes submissions for the Mazel Tov section of the paper celebrating b’nai mitzvahs, engagements, weddings, births, etc.

The Jewish Outlook distribution is 7,000. It is mailed to subscribers and available at the JCC, in Jewish institutions and select stores in Austin. Please review the editorial guidelines before submitting an article.

Submission deadline is the 10th of the previous month of the issue. Example: The deadline for the March issue is February 10.

Submit your story to the Jewish Community Blog anytime. Stories published in The Jewish Outlook will automatically be posted on the blog after the newspaper prints.
