Take a private lesson from one of our world-class tennis and pickleball professionals at the brand-new Hurt Family Tennis Center! We offer lessons for all ages and levels and for groups of any size, whether you are just starting out or have been playing for years we can help you achieve your goals.

All private lessons are scheduled with the pros individually. After you have purchased a lesson or package of lessons, please reach out to the instructor to setup a time.

James Russell

Tennis Director

James has been teaching full-time for eight years and has been a United States Professional Tennis Association certified professional for six years. James comes to us from Barton Creek Resort & Spa where he was the Head Professional helping to build their program after the completion of their 10-court facility. He competed for three years at the Division I level at Eastern Washington University and Nicholls State with multiple wins over nationally ranked teams. In juniors James was ranked as high as 150th in the country. James specializes in fundamentals and technique for all levels having trained under world-renowned coaches across the country.

Scott Christensen

Head Tennis Professional

Scott brings 40+ years of experience that includes holding positions of Director, Director of Juniors, Head Pro and Academy Coach, as well as Player Promotions at the Prince Sports Group. He played his college tennis at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida and before that at Collingswood High school in New Jersey where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Scott still competes and in 2021 was ranked #1 in the nation in the 55 and over, 4.5 division. When not teaching, playing or watching tennis Scott’s other hobby is writing and he has published 4 books.

Kali Hamilton

Tennis Professional

Kali played five years of collegiate tennis at Colorado State University Pueblo and competed at the number one spot her entire undergraduate career. Prior to college, she was a Texas High School State Champion two years in a row.  Kali has been playing tennis since she was eight years old.  When she reached high school, she developed a passion for coaching, and went on to have a coaching role while playing on her collegiate team. With her knowledge and experience, she has an ability to work with all ages and skill levels.  Along with coaching tennis, Kali plans to get her master’s degree in clinical psychology for children.

Chris McCormick

Tennis Professional

Chris has been playing tennis since he was 5 years old. He comes from a tennis teaching family, with his dad and older brother both holding positions of tennis director in their lifetime. In high school Chris found a passion for coaching and leading which led him to work at the Blossom Tennis Center in San Antonio. This is where he earned experience coaching all ages and abilities. Chris played his high school tennis at Churchill HS in San Antonio and reached the rank of super-champ in juniors.   He was ranked in the top 50 in boys 18s in Texas. He then went on to University of Texas at Austin where he played club tennis while earning his degree in Economics. Along with coaching tennis, Chris is seeking his commercial pilots license and hopes to one day fly for a commercial airline!

Blaise Timco

Pickleball Professional

Blaise has been a passionate pickleball player for the past seven years and holds a Level I Certification from Pickleball Coaching International (PCI). He discovered the sport in 2016 while accompanying his son to the gym for a basketball game. Little did he know that it would become a true obsession. As he became more dedicated to pickleball, he began participating in ladder leagues and tournaments. Before his love for pickleball, Blaise was an avid tennis player and had nine years of experience coaching soccer, baseball, and basketball. To further enhance his coaching abilities, Blaise enrolled in training at Pickleball Coaching International and earned his Level I Certification. Aside from his passion for pickleball, Blaise also owns and runs a real estate school and is involved in venture capitalism.
