Shalom Austin’s All Day at the J program is meant to help community members fill the gap during the first few weeks of school that have been moved to virtual learning, and will continue to be offered afterward. School doors may be closed, but All Day at the J’s doors are open for as long as the community needs the program.

Shalom Austin is committed to partnering with families to provide a safe space for students to do their virtual learning through their respective schools while maintaining the normalcy of being in a space with friends. All Day at the J will support them by helping them log on to classes, making sure they complete assignments and providing socially distant activities when they are not participating in classes or school-related projects.

Why spend all day at the J? Program staff will take care of everything. Staff members will create and keep consistency in student routines, as well as provide enrichment electives each day. The program will have continuous staffing, all of whom have been trained to maintain the highest level of safety standards and have already been implementing COVID-19 safety protocols during the camp season.

Shalom Austin staff members are passionate about seeing students continue to grow, not only in their education but also in their socialization. Shalom Austin’s licensed childcare program, led by credentialed and experienced educators and programmers, will take the set curriculum provided by each student’s specific school and ensure they are maintaining their progress in virtual studies. Parents’ only responsibility is to provide their students with the resources necessary to complete their studies, including items such as school supplies, laptops or Chromebooks, headphones, schedules and assignment deadlines.
