The Austin Chapter of Hadassah’s Annual Luncheon and Silent Auction is going virtual this year. Grab some lunch and join the event Wednesday, Nov. 4, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.

This year the Austin Chapter of Hadassah is honoring Dolly Golden for her longtime commitment and dedication to the chapter. Funds raised in her honor will be donated to the Hadassah 360 Campaign and for a tribute item to be displayed in Hadassah Hospital.

The virtual silent auction has more than 50 items, including jewelry, art, Judaica, hotel stays, gift cards and more. The auction begins Saturday, Oct. 31, at midnight and concludes Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 5 p.m.

Award-winning author Cynthia Levinson will discuss her book, “Watch Out for Flying Kids,” about Arab and Jewish children confronting conflict and building community through circus. Lori Kline, author of the award-winning children’s picture book, “Almost a Minyan,” will discuss “Bubbe Kisses and Other Treasures: Transmitting Jewish Traditions to our Children and Grandchildren Today.”

The Hadassah 360 campaign will completely renovate and expand the Round Building, the iconic original inpatient center at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem in Jerusalem, into an important healing center for Israel, significantly advancing the services in its outpatient surgery, oncology, and dermatology departments.

Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, is a volunteer organization that inspires a passion for and commitment to the land, the people, and the future of Israel. Through education, advocacy, and youth development, and its support of medical care and research at Hadassah Medical Organization, Hadassah enhances the health and lives of people in Israel, the United States, and worldwide. ■
