L’Chaim City Limits (LCL) takes place this year on July 15-17 2022 in Austin, Texas. With a mission to unite those of a Judaic background through events, social networking and leadership conferences, Judaism United is the non-profit that produces L’Chaim City Limits, which is targeted to Jewish young professionals.
LCL typically features several events throughout the weekend. These events include a Shabbat dinner with a Shabbat candle lighting ceremony, a Shabbat Friday evening party, a Saturday day event, a Saturday night festivity which includes a Havdalah service, and a Sunday brunch at various venues throughout the Greater Central Austin Area.
Attendees can purchase a la carte event-specific tickets or full weekend passes via The Judaism United Website. A room block is usually offered to those traveling from out of town. In 2019, the event featured over 165 people from more than 16 cities and 12 states, though the attendees predominately resided in Central Texas.
Shalom Austin CEO Rabbi Daniel Septimus led the Shabbat candle lighting ceremony during the Shabbat dinner as the event saw additional partnerships created with Young Jewish Professionals of Austin and Moishe House. The venues for that weekend included The World Famous Stubb’s BBQ as well as Native Hostel.
As the event date approaches, The Judaism United Board, which is made up of 10 people located throughout Texas, will roll out announcements as they are made available.
