At a new earlier time, Book Lovers Breakfast event was well attended at 170 attendees.

Lisa Barr, author of “The Goddess of Warsaw,” brought her sweet personality, humor, love of historical fiction, and personal stories to Shalom Austin Women’s Philanthropy’s Book Lovers Breakfast on Nov. 7. The event, co-chaired by Corrie MacLaggan and Dana Shapiro Spaeth, is a favorite in the community.

The women in the room listened intently as MacLaggan, a journalist, moderated the interview with well-researched questions about the book, Barr’s writing process, the author’s family connections to the Holocaust, and the possibility that there will be movie adaptations of two of her books. Attendees waited patiently and excitedly in line afterwards to take pictures with Lisa and have her sign their book.
