In today’s fast-paced world, where technology, business, and science intersect, fostering real connections and exchanging groundbreaking ideas is more valuable than ever. Recognizing this need, the Israeli-American Council and Science Abroad have launched “Science & Business at the Bar,” a monthly gathering that brings together professionals, entrepreneurs, and academics for thought-provoking discussions in an informal and engaging setting.

Unlike traditional conferences, where formal presentations and structured networking often dominate the agenda, Science & Business at the Bar offers a relaxed atmosphere where attendees can engage in open dialogue, ask pressing questions, and explore innovative concepts over a drink.

The program creates a unique space for idea-sharing and collaboration, allowing professionals to learn from industry leaders while strengthening their professional and social networks.

“Events like this provide a refreshing alternative to formal networking settings,” shared a past speaker. “They foster an environment where professionals from different fields—whether in high-tech, academia, or business—can connect organically and exchange insights without the pressure of a structured conference.”

Past Highlights: Learning from Industry Leaders

The series has already hosted an impressive lineup of speakers, each offering insights into cutting-edge industries and scientific advancements, such as: “Explore the AI Revolution!” where Micha Livne, senior research scientist at NVIDIA, provided an insider’s look at the future of artificial intelligence and its evolving role across industries. At “Behind the Curtain of NASA’s Space Shuttle Program,” Eric Hammer, president of Integrity Jets, shared exclusive insights into aerospace technology and innovation. During “How AI Shapes Our Musical Culture,” Elad Liebman, data scientist at SparkCognition, discussed how artificial intelligence is reshaping the music industry. Each event fosters dynamic, interactive discussions, ensuring that attendees leave with fresh perspectives and valuable connections that go beyond just professional networking.

More Than Just a Lecture—A Space for Community

Beyond professional enrichment, Science & Business at the Bar plays a crucial role in strengthening the local Jewish and Israeli professional community. In a time of increasing global uncertainty, the importance of fostering a supportive network cannot be overstated. “At a time when antisemitism is on the rise, it is more important than ever for the Jewish and Israeli professional community to come together, learn from one another, and build lasting relationships,” a remark from one of the guests. “These events offer a meaningful space where professionals can find inspiration, collaboration, and support.”

Whether a seasoned expert or simply curious about the latest advancements in science and business, this series offers an experience that is as enriching as it is engaging. All lectures are in English and open to the public.
