On March 27, 2025, Shalom Austin hosted its 21st Mosaic Luncheon, an event that brought together over 1,000 people to celebrate the power of women across our community, to hear from a variety of powerful speakers, and to raise money for the organization. The event, themed “As One, we Empower. As One, we Inspire,” was a resounding success, raising almost $800,000, helping surpass the $2M mark towards the organization’s $3.75 million Annual Campaign goal. This milestone not only demonstrated our community’s commitment to a shared vision, but also highlighted the power of our collective action.
In a world where community is more crucial than ever, events like Mosaic remind us of the strength found in coming together. Co-Chairs Marci Dell and Susan Zane led the charge, inspiring attendees to make a meaningful impact. Robyn Sperling, honored as the Marilyn Stahl Woman of Valor for her over 30 years of dedication to the Jewish community, delivered a powerful message: “I urge you to find your voice. We need you now more than ever!” Her words resonated deeply, emphasizing the importance of individual contributions for the collective good.
Featured speaker Mayim Bialik, a neuroscientist and award-winning actress, echoed this sentiment and her commitment to Israel as well, stating, “It should not be controversial to advocate for the safety and security of the only Jewish state in the world.” She also spoke about her childhood experiences at Jewish overnight camp, made possible by the contributions of donors. Meaningfully, the event raised $22,000 for Jewish overnight camp assistance.
Mosaic’s success was also made possible by the generosity of raffle donors, including LizaBeth Jewelry, Zadok Jewelers, and Susan Zane. Special thanks were also given to event planner Dani Curiel of DC Design Consultant for her expertise in bringing the “As One” vision to life.
With more than 100 Table Captains, Mosaic 2025 was a testament to the power of community and collective giving.
Heading into the summer, Shalom Austin has raised 70% of the 2025 Annual Campaign goal to inspire Jewish journeys in meaningful and transformative ways, ensure we can continue to care for those in need and enhance Jewish experiences in Austin, in Israel and around the world.
Table Captain Co-Chairs Rachel Jamail, Amy Kline and Mimi Spier are tremendously inspired and proud of our community’s dedication to Shalom Austin and this event.
