Shalom Austin is a proud supporter of Jewish overnight camp and the meaningful role it plays in shaping the next generation. They are deeply committed to the holistic development of our youth, recognizing the importance of nurturing both their personal growth and Jewish identity. Jewish overnight camps offer children transformative experiences in a fun, immersive environment. Campers develop independence, strengthen life skills, and build lasting friendship, all while deepening their connection to Judaism. From singing songs around the campfire and playing sports to hiking and engaging in Jewish learning, these experiences foster self-discovery, belonging, and a strong sense of Jewish pride.
Shalom Austin understands that sending a child to overnight camp is a significant financial commitment. That’s why Shalom Austin has worked hard to ensure that scholarships and additional funding are available to support families in the community. Thanks to the generous contributions to the Annual Campaign, they were able to help 75 campers attend 12 different Jewish overnight camps this year! In partnership with One Happy Camper, Shalom Austin provided scholarships to first-time campers, making it easier for families to give their children this unforgettable experience. For families needing additional assistance, Shalom Austin was proud to offer extra support to ensure no child missed out on the magic of camp.
One grateful parent shared, “Having the extra financial support from Shalom Austin allowed us to send our camper to both JCamps day camp and their overnight camp. Immersing our children in Jewish experiences over the summer is so important to our family, especially now. It gives them confidence and instills a strong sense of Jewish pride. Thank you, Shalom Austin, for helping make this possible!”
At Shalom Austin, they believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow, explore, and connect in a Jewish setting. Together, a vibrant, engaged Jewish future, is being built one camper at a time.
