A busy Veterans Day weekend as members of Austin Post 757, Jewish War Veterans of the USA (JWV), braved a blustery Sunday morning to perform a solemn Veterans Day Flag ceremony on the Dell Jewish Community Campus early on November 9th. Following a brief reading about patriotism, military service and sacrifice, the Red, White & Blue was hoisted atop the center flagpole as our National Anthem played in the background. The flag was then lowered to half-staff as the mournful bugle notes of Taps honored the memory of those in all conflicts who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Then, on Tuesday November 11th, the official observance day, Post 757 members took part in Austin’s Veterans Day parade, marching up Congress Avenue from the Ann Richards Bridge to the State Capital.
