JCAMPS 2024
We can’t wait to get back to JCamps for Summer 2024! We’re breaking in our shoes for song-session dances, refreshing our vocabulary for the Hebrew word of the day, and planning for new amazing theme days! Camp classics like tennis at the Hurt Family Tennis Center and cooling off at the Rochelle and Stanley Ferdman Family Aquatic Center return with even more new and exciting surprises. Get ready for the best summer ever!

Entering 3s – PreK
If your child will be age 3 by September 1, 2024, please select “Threes: 3 by Sept 1” when prompted to select a grade in CampInTouch. Camps for this age group are labeled as “3s.”
If your child will be age 4 by September 1, 2024, please select “Pre-K: 4 by Sept 1” when prompted to select a grade in CampInTouch. Camps for this age group are labeled as “Pre-K.”

Soccer Shots Classic | Half Day 9 a.m.-1 p.m. | 3s-Pre-K
Join Soccer Shots–7x Winner of the Austin Chronicle’s Best Youth Sports Program– for a fun-filled week playing the world’s greatest game! Our nationally-recognized program offers a positive, high-energy, and age-appropriate introduction to soccer. Our half-day camps consist of multiple soccer sessions out on the JCC field and indoor time doing a daily craft, reading, and team-building activities. Each camper will also receive a camp prize such as a t-shirt, mini soccer ball, water bottle, and more. All campers must be fully potty-trained. This camp is 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday-Thursday. This camp does not swim.

From ESTEAM Learning Labs, young engineers develop an understanding of energy, energy transfer, and collision. Sports will have them building a mini golf course, bowling alleys, and hockey game as they refine their problem-solving skills, create a solution to a problem with constraints, and improve on others’ ideas. This camp will focus on creating a fun, friendly, and caring environment for our youngest LEGO® builders! This camp does not swim.
*REGISTRATION CLOSED* ESTEAM LEGO Smart Moves | 3rd-6th Grades
From ESTEAM Learning Labs, this camp incorporates technology concepts, engineering principles, programming, and imagination for our advancing robot engineers. Campers will gain first-hand experience in getting a sensor-equipped vehicle (your robot) to gain access to places and things while avoiding or surviving impacts, all in a test environment. Campers will build robots, learn to program, tackle challenges, and hone their robotics and project-planning skills. Campers will be challenged with the LEGO© robotics Kits, where they will build and program their robotic creations! This camp does not swim.

From ESTEAM Learning Labs, join our team of industry professionals while we make movie special FX accessible and fun! In this program, campers will engage in hands-on practical science demonstrations. They will learn how to make simple special FX from glowing slime to dry ice FX while exploring the science behind each project. This camp does not swim.

From Mad Science, join a team of camper engineers and build bridges, domes, cubes, and pyramids. Assemble and control pulleys, levers, catapults, and simple machines. This camp does not swim.

Summer camp with Master Palacios ATA Martial Arts works hand in hand with your efforts as a parent, providing the Life Skills necessary for your child to be THE BEST THEY CAN BE! No previous experience necessary! Engaging games, projects, and hikes, plus the life-enriching skills of self-confidence, respect, self-control, and friendship. Our focus this week is school prep: focus, discipline, respect, self-esteem. This is a belt promotion camp. Modules include Bully Prevention and Team Building. Master Palacios ATA Martial Arts Camp can help make this your child’s most exciting summer ever!

Come explore the bounty of summer-fresh, local, colorful ingredients and explore how those foods got from the ground to our plates. Young chefs will learn what makes certain ingredients so super for the body and how delicious they can taste, while practicing basic cooking skills and techniques on their way to becoming super chefs! All meals created in this camp are meat-free. After cooking, campers spend their afternoon with fun classic camp activities like swimming, games, and more!

Calling all Hebrew speakers, join us for JCamps in Hebrew! This camp is designed for native Hebrew speakers who are looking for a camp experience fully in Hebrew. Campers will enjoy arts and crafts, sports, games, and more! This camp is for fluent Hebrew speakers and is not for campers who are learning Hebrew.

From ESTEAM Learning Labs, young engineers learn about the steps involved in defining a problem, brainstorming solutions, and testing and refining prototypes to improve their ideas. The amusement park camp will have campers use LEGO® bricks, gears, and motors to build a carousel, twirling teacups, Ferris wheel, and more fun challenges. This camp will focus on creating a fun, friendly, and caring environment for our youngest LEGO® builders! This camp does not swim.

Campers will outline ideas, create a resource list, craft their story objectives, create content, and learn how to edit. This camp does not swim.

Young Rembrandts Olympic Artistry: Gold Medal Cartooning | 2nd-6th Grades
From Young Rembrandts, while our country’s athletes are going for the gold this summer, Young Rembrandts artists will mark the occasion with an all-Olympic-themed cartooning curriculum. In this series, our athletes – not all of them human! – will show off their skills in baseball, basketball, martial arts, surfing and more. Artists will learn to draw colorful characters, create exaggerated expressions and dynamic poses, and tell a story by illustrating a cartoon sequence. Every artist wins in these Olympics! Campers spend their afternoon with fun classic camp activities like swimming, games, and more.
*WAITLISTED* ZACH Theatre: Act the Story | 1st-2nd Grades
Bring your imagination to life! In this fun beginners acting camp by ZACH Theatre, campers will learn the basic Actor’s Tools and work on building confidence, creativity, and collaboration onstage! Campers will engage in acting, movement, arts & crafts and creative drama to work together and bring their most creative stories to life! Please note – these classes focus on process (the skills of acting and story-telling) over product. The camp ends with a demonstration where campers perform an original devised play for friends and families.

Join ZACH Theatre for a fun and fast-paced camp that’s great for young actors with any level of experience. Through acting games and exercises campers will learn how to say “yes” to ideas, create characters, make specific choices, and let go of judgment to reach their full creative potential. Please note – this camp focuses on process (the skills of acting and improvisation) over product. The semester ends with a demonstration where campers perform a selection of improvisation games and scenes for friends and family.

HEAR FROM OUR FAMILIES!
After attending cdc@cbi for preschool, my kids are currently are now in public school, with very few other Jewish kids. JCamps was a natural next step to help them continue building their Jewish community. Last summer, Cameron made meaningful connections with other campers and counselors. Our family loves JCamps! Betsy and Teddy decorated their bed with crafts from JCamps and insisted on making a video to send to their beloved counselors showing their decor and telling them how much they love their creations. Camp leaders also followed up immediately when I expressed Teddy had a challenging time making friends. Counselors helped him find his good buddy who he now loves seeing at soccer during the school year. The personal touches and attention make JCamps so special!
