We’re open and ready for the best summer ever! Our trained staff are dedicated to providing a safe space for campers while maintaining the normalcy of being with friends. Kids will enjoy everything the JCC has to offer, from large indoor spaces and a gymnasium to the lush grounds and outdoor fields! Each day, campers will participate in outside activities, crafts, plus JCamps traditions like song session and flagpole! 

We can’t wait to introduce you to the new facilities that will be available for our campers. From our new, state of the art Aquatics center to the brand new tennis courts, we know camp is going to be next level.

Kim’s Gym Tiny Tumblers | Half Day 9 a.m.-1 p.m. | 3s-Pre-K

Get ready to move at Kim’s Gym! All campers will have the best time learning or honing their gymnastics skills, including floor exercise, bars, beam, vault, and air track. Campers also get to participate in art, cooking, outdoor adventure, and other games. Fun kids, fun coaches, lifelong memories! Theme: Ninja! – We are going to kick up some fun this first week of camp! Get your muscles ready to run, jump, and climb your way to becoming a true ninja warrior. All campers must be fully potty trained.

Fungineers | 2nd-6th Grades

From ESTEAM Learning Labs, join the elite group of recruits to become a spy-in-training. Students will learn how to build and code their robot to navigate through various obstacle courses, robot recon and rescue, and code their robot to complete their super-secret mission during each session. They will be challenged with the LEGO Mindstorms NXT or EV3 Robotics Construction Kits to build and program their own SPY BOTS!

Fungineers Jr. | K-1st Grades

From ESTEAM Learning Labs, student participants will experience several exciting activities over the course of the week-long sessions. Every skill level, ranging from beginner to super geek, will need to fire up their brains and prepare to work in cooperative engineering teams. The Maker camp includes the following: Coding Challenges, LEGO Master Builders, Simple Machines, Movie Making, LEGO Mosaic art, LEGO Ev3, NXT and WeDo Robotics systems.

Kim’s Gym | K-5th Grades

Get ready to move at Kim’s Gym! All campers will have the best time learning or honing their gymnastics skills, including floor exercise, bars, beam, vault, and air track. Martial Arts | 1st-6th Grades

Summer camp with Master Palacios ATA Martial Arts works hand in hand with your efforts as a parent, providing the Life Skills necessary for your child to be THE BEST THEY CAN BE! No previous experience necessary! Engaging games, projects, and hikes, plus the life-enriching skills of self-confidence, respect, self-control, and friendship. Our focus this week will be self-protection, self-defense, and summer readiness. Master Palacios ATA Martial Arts Camp can help make this your child’s most exciting summer ever!

Soccer Shots Premier | K-2nd Grades

Join Soccer Shots for a fun-filled week playing the world’s greatest game! Our nationally recognized program offers a high energy, safe, and age-appropriate introduction to soccer. Young Rembrandts: Awesome Anime & Magnificent Manga | 2nd-6th Grades

If you have Manga Mania, sign up for this class. Join Young Rembrandts for a 5-day drawing workshop; we’ll be drawing and coloring all things ANIME! Artists will learn to draw their own anime style characters ranging from easy to challenging – this is a great way to perfect those skills and learn new manga tricks. Each day students will complete multiple pieces of artwork like customized faces, animals, sugoi action and more ARTastic drawings.

Chamudim (cuties) is our premier Kindergarten-readiness program! Your camper will learn and hone essential skills to ensure they are ready for their exciting transition to Elementary School in the fall! Chamudim campers will gain independence, develop skills and explore almost all that JCamps has to offer! Every week, Chamudim campers will participate in art, music, Israeli Culture, nature, athletics, and water activities. Each day there is a short rest time after lunch. Chamudim is the magic of summer and pure joy of time spent outdoors with best friends, especially during group bonding events like Friday Shabbat, Maccabiah, Pride Day, Theme Days and so much more!

Noar | 1st & 2nd Grades

Noar (youth) campers will really begin to develop their interests and friendships at camp through participation in all specialty areas including art, music, Israeli Culture, nature, athletics, archery, and water activities. During the day, Noar is filled with ruach “spirit,” excitement and campers feel a true sense of community. Noar is the magic of summer and pure joy of time spent outdoors with best friends, especially during group bonding events like Friday Shabbat, Maccabiah, Pride Day, Theme Days and so much more!

Kochavim | 3rd & 4th Grades

Kochavim “stars” campers will get the full camp experience! Campers will participate in all specialty areas including art, music, Israeli Culture, nature, athletics, archery, and water activities. Kochavim campers participate in select fun activities made just for them, to engage with their bunkmates, strengthening their sense of community and enhancing their social skills (without even knowing it!). Kochavim is the magic of summer and pure joy of time spent outdoors with best friends, especially during group bonding events like Friday Shabbat, Maccabiah, Pride Day, Theme Days and so much more! Kochavim campers not only get the classic camp experience, but also get the awesome privilege of doing our Masters program! The Masters program is a daily opportunity for campers to go to an elective of their choosing for an activity period. Each session will consist of roughly 4 different options for campers to choose from. Once decided, campers will attend the same elective each day. Ranging anywhere from sports and mosaics to improv and storytelling, the goal of the program is for all campers to learn a new skill or enhance old ones that they can feel excited and challenged by!

Giborim | 5th & 6th Grades

Giborim “heroes” is “the coolest team” here at JCamps! Campers participate in all specialty areas including art, music, Israeli Culture, nature, athletics, archery, and water activities. The Giborim experience is designed to keep our oldest campers engaged and asking for more, all while allowing for exploration, skill building, fostering friendships and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Giborim is the magic of summer and pure joy of time spent outdoors with best friends, especially during group bonding events like Friday Shabbat, Maccabiah, Pride Day, Theme Days and so much more!Giborim campers not only get the classic camp experience, but also get the awesome privilege of doing our Masters program! The Masters program is a daily opportunity for Giborim campers to do a deep-dive of an elective of their choosing for an extended activity period. Each session will consist of roughly 4 different options for campers to choose from. Once decided, campers will attend the same elective each day. Ranging anywhere from Camper In Training programs to in-depth unique activities like mosaics and robotics, the goal of the MSB program is for all campers to learn a new skill or enhance old ones that they can feel excited and challenged by!

Tennis Rookies | K-6th Grades

Come to Tennis Camp and learn to hit groundstrokes, rally, serve, volley and compete through fun drills and games that will make anyone feel like a pro. Learn from fantastic coaches who are a ton of fun! Games and drills will not just be limited to tennis, be prepared to have all athleticism put to the test! Campers also get to participate in group bonding events like Friday Shabbat, Pride Day, Theme Days, swimming and water activities, and so much more! Our age-appropriate program will keep your camper engaged and in the action for what we know will be an unforgettable summer!

Basketball Rookies | K-6th Grades

A longtime favorite for our campers!  Grouped by age to promote individual success, build confidence, and create healthy competition, your camper will thrive on and off the court. All the skill development drills have been designed to incorporate high-energy and fun contests: Games, Playoffs, Championship; Shooting and dribbling contests and awards; Individualized instruction and skill development. Campers also get to participate in group bonding events like Friday Shabbat, Pride Day, Theme Days, swimming and water activities, and so much more! Our age-appropriate program will keep your camper engaged and in the action for what we know will be an unforgettable summer!

Hideout Theatre Improv | 1st-6th Grades

In the Hideout Improv Camps kids learn the basics of improv, storytelling, and stagecraft mostly through playing games – because you learn better when you are having fun! Every day we play games, create stories, perform scenes, do crafts, and generally have a blast. On the final day we show off our amazing new skills in a performance for friends and family.

Looking to improve your skills in an energetic and supportive environment, surrounded by your friends?  Maccabi at JCamps will provide two weeks of FUN while building your confidence, developing your skills, and learning about teamwork and sportsmanship. We will play – Basketball, Soccer, Pickleball, Football, Capture the Flag, Pool Basketball, Gaga, Volleyball/Catch ball and many others!! Campers also get to participate in group bonding events like Friday Shabbat, Maccabiah, Theme Days, swimming and water activities, and so much more! Our age-appropriate program will keep your camper engaged and in the action for what we know will be an unforgettable summer!

Giborim is the magic of summer and pure joy of time spent outdoors with best friends, especially during group bonding events like Friday Shabbat, Maccabiah, Pride Day, Theme Days and so much more!Giborim campers not only get the classic camp experience, but also get the awesome privilege of doing our Masters program! The Masters program is a daily opportunity for Giborim campers to do a deep-dive of an elective of their choosing for an extended activity period. Each session will consist of roughly 4 different options for campers to choose from. Once decided, campers will attend the same elective each day. Ranging anywhere from Camper In Training programs to in-depth unique activities like mosaics and robotics, the goal of the MSB program is for all campers to learn a new skill or enhance old ones that they can feel excited and challenged by!

Tennis Rookies | K-6th Grades

Ready to try or continue improving at one of the newest sports at Shalom Austin? Come to Tennis Camp and learn to hit groundstrokes, rally, serve, volley and compete through fun drills and games that will make anyone feel like a pro. Learn from fantastic coaches who are a ton of fun! Games and drills will not just be limited to tennis, be prepared to have all athleticism put to the test! Campers also get to participate in group bonding events like Friday Shabbat, Pride Day, Theme Days, swimming and water activities, and so much more! Our age-appropriate program will keep your camper engaged and in the action for what we know will be an unforgettable summer!

Kim’s Gym | K-5th Grades

Get ready to move at Kim’s Gym! All campers will have the best time learning or honing their gymnastics skills, including floor exercise, bars, beam, vault, and air track. Campers also get to participate in swimming or water activities, art, cooking, outdoor adventure, and other games. Fun kids, fun coaches, lifelong memories! Theme: Spirit Week – Show us your Kim’s Gym spirit!! Every day we will have a new and fun theme to participate in!

Lego Movie Making | K-2nd Grades

From ESTEAM Learning Labs, kids work in pairs to create a short story, draw it out, and build it with LEGO™ Bricks, and then they bring it to life on film. Each session students will choose from THEMED LEGO™ KITS from MINECRAFT to SUPERHEROS (and more) and using those kits, create their very own movie, complete with sound effects & even music. A copy of all projects will be provided via a screening link for our YouTube page for screening purposes.

Mad Science: Astro Innovators | 1st-5th Grades

Join Mad Science as campers use creative and collaborative skills to design a mission patch, train like an astronaut, and solve real-world engineering problems using spinoff technology, just like NASA astronauts working together on a mission. They propose answers to questions like “How could space suit cooling tubes be used to solve a problem here on Earth? How could robotic arms help make our world a better place?” Then, they create a storyboard and presentation to share their spinoff project and work on their science communication skills.

Martial Arts | 1st-6th Grades

Summer camp with Master Palacios ATA Martial Arts works hand in hand with your efforts as a parent, providing the Life Skills necessary for your child to be THE BEST THEY CAN BE! No previous experience necessary! Engaging games, projects, and hikes, plus the life-enriching skills of self-confidence, respect, self-control, and friendship. Our focus this week is school prep: focus, discipline, respect, self-esteem. This is a belt promotion camp. Modules include Bully Prevention and Team Building. Master Palacios ATA Martial Arts Camp can help make this your child’s most exciting summer ever!

Soccer Shots Premier | K-2nd Grades

Join Soccer Shots for a fun-filled week playing the world’s greatest game! Our nationally recognized program offers a high energy, safe, and age-appropriate introduction to soccer. Our full-day camps consist of multiple soccer sessions out on the JCC field, daily swim or water activities, and indoor time doing a daily craft, reading, and team-building activities. Each camper will also receive a camp prize every day!

UTubers Unite! | 3rd-6th Grades

From ESTEAM Learning Labs, students will film run-and-gun style, capturing the events, activities, and people around them. Once the footage has been captured, students will work together to edit and deliver the footage in an exciting show format that excited and captivates their audience. Any up-and-coming Youtuber will love this crash course in content creation! Final projects will be available for screening via our YouTube Channel.

Amazing Machines | K-1st Grades

From ESTEAM Learning Labs, budding engineers are given age-appropriate LEGO lessons and games, and LEGO sets with plenty of instructors to help with building. We focus on creating a fun, friendly, and caring environment for our youngest LEGO builders! They will be challenged with the LEGO WeDo robotics program where they will build and program their own robotic creations and learn about coding, engineering, gears, pulleys, levers, and more!

Battle Bots | 2nd-6th Grades

From ESTEAM Learning Labs, campers learn to design and build their own motorized battle cars and other vehicles. Using principles of simple and complex machines, gearing, and mechanical advantage, students will try to flip, push, or smash their opponent’s battle vehicles. Students learn the use of mechanical lifts, drills, ramps, and more to disable or overcome other bots. Students will use the LEGO Mindstorms Education Robotics system.

Hideout Theatre Improv | 1st-6th Grades

In the Hideout Improv Camps kids learn the basics of improv, storytelling, and stagecraft mostly through playing games – because you learn better when you are having fun! Every day we play games, create stories, perform scenes, do crafts, and generally have a blast. On the final day we show off our amazing new skills in a performance for friends and family.

Young Rembrandts: Once Upon a Time Art Camp | 2nd-6th Grades

Join Young Rembrandts as we travel back in time to the Middle Ages for our medieval-themed drawing workshop. Princesses, knights, castles, and even dragons highlight the spectacular drawings our students will produce. Students also will tap into their imagination while learning to draw otherworldly creatures like fairies, trolls and a forest queen. Your child’s talent will truly enchant you as they create beautiful scenery and new masterpieces every day. Get ready for five days of magical, mythical, medieval, and MARVELOUS imagery!

JCAMPS INCLUSION PROGRAM

Our Inclusion Program is created so that campers with special needs can receive individualized support to have an incredible summer at JCamps! This program is for children with learning, developmental, social, emotional, and/or physical disabilities. Depending on the need, campers will be paired 1:1 or 2:1 with an Inclusion Counselor and will join their bunk in all camp activities.

Inclusion is only available for Sessions A-D for Chamudim, Noar, Kochavim, and Giborim. Please indicate your interest in the Inclusion Program on your application!

Junior Babysitting | 7th-9th Grades | Week 2

Babysitting and Junior Lifeguarding camp is designed to help develop leadership skills and learn basic skills to help campers succeed in their future endeavors as babysitters or lifeguards. Campers will spend their mornings together learning about leadership skills, crisis management, First Aid and CPR. In the afternoon campers will break out into different tracks, focusing on either babysitting or lifeguarding. The babysitting track will help provide the knowledge and skills needed to safely care for children. Throughout the week campers will develop leadership skills, learn basic child-care, CPR, and First Aid. We will be covering everything from child behavior, age-appropriate activities, professionalism, growing your own business, and more.

Junior Lifeguard | 7th-9th Grades | Week 2

Babysitting and Junior Lifeguarding camp is designed to help develop leadership skills and learn basic skills to help campers succeed in their future endeavors as babysitters or lifeguards. Campers will spend their mornings together learning about leadership skills, crisis management, First Aid and CPR. In the afternoon campers will break out into different tracks, focusing on either babysitting or lifeguarding. Junior Lifeguards will hop into the pool for an opportunity to gain exposure to the fundamental skills crucial to becoming a certified lifeguard by working as part of a team to learn rescue and water surveillance, how to handle themselves safely in the water, and become certified in CPR/First Aid. (Note: This camp is to improve personal water skills and is NOT a lifeguard certification program).

Leaders In Training (LIT) | 10th Grades

The JCamps Leaders in Training (LIT) Program has been redesigned to allow incoming 10th graders a multifaceted experience. The program contains three components: leadership training, hands-on counselor skills guidance, and fun, social programing. Each two-week session will provide teens the opportunity to experience every facet of working at a summer camp from interacting directly with campers to shadowing activity specialists and admin. Under the supervision of our Program Coordinator, LITs will meet as a group regularly for learning and discussion groups. The first week of each session provides a more in-depth learning experience, and the second week will focus on putting those skills to use in camp groups. LITs will also help program for camp groups. Upon completion of the LIT Program, participants will receive a minimum of 45 community service hours and are eligible for higher starting pay rate as a Junior Counselor at JCamps.

SESSION B, JUNE 20-JULY 1

Junior Master Class | 7th-9th Grades

Artists, athletes, music lovers, scientists, and MORE, will spend two weeks being immersed in “Junior Masterclasses” from local Austinites. Each day teen campers (7th-9th grade) will explore and experience new skills and areas of Austin ranging from arts and entertainment, music, sports, science and technology, and SO. MUCH. MORE! The goal of the Junior Masterclass camp is to engage campers with new experiences, while learning new skills from the masters themselves.

It’s not just the place we call home, but a chance for campers to capture the spirit of summer, in a city that wears the slogan “Keep Austin Weird.” Teen campers will spend the week exploring all the unique and fun things Austin has to offer. Campers will have the opportunity to get out and discover the city like they’ve never seen before! We will be exploring the Texas Hill Country, checking out the music scene, visiting local swimming holes, and experiencing all the unique things Austin has to offer. Come ready to adventure and enjoy everything that KEEPS AUSTIN WEIRD!

Desserts & Donuts | 7th-9th Grades | Week 1 July 18 – 22

Get a taste of the Austin food scene through exploring Austin’s yummiest and most popular restaurants (and making some of their own). From finding the city’s best breakfast taco, trying Gourdough’s famous donuts, dipping chips in Kerby Lane’s delicious queso, we will taste it all. Teen campers will also participate in Chopped inspired food challenges and discover their inner foodie. Get ready to come hungry and leave happy!
