Camp Resources | Shalom Austin

The safety and health of our participants, families and staff is our number 1 priority. Shalom Austin will continue to follow our current high health and safety standards and protocols, which includes mask wearing (for both staff & children), until advised by local and regional experts that is safe to relax them. We have been open since July 2020 and have proven our ability to provide a safe and fun place for our children. Our facility has been and will continuously be cleaned, disinfected and sanitized. Our staff has undergone extensive training on best practices in preventing the spread of COVID-19. We thank you in advance for your part in helping us keep our community as safe as possible.

COVID Vaccine Policy for Children Ages 5 and older

In order to comply with state requirements, we are updating our Covid vaccine policy.

COVID vaccines for children ages 5 and older are strongly recommended.  As camp approaches, based on recommendations from medical experts and conditions in the Austin area, we will be taking additional precautions to ensure a safe experience for all participants.

Immunization records must adhere to Texas state standards, JCamps does not accept immunization waivers. COVID vaccines for children ages 5 and older are strongly recommended.

This policy may be updated as more information becomes available .

Currently, masks are optional for children and adults.

We follow CDC guidance in encouraging all people who are high-risk or who are in regular contact with someone who is high-risk to wear a mask. We will support all families who request that their child continue to wear a mask at all times. Please note that there will be mask requirements as part of our COVID exposure procedures.

If you are wearing a mask, we require a 3-ply surgical mask or KN95 mask. This will provide an extra layer of protection. Fabric masks may be worn on top of the surgical mask but may not be used alone. Fabric masks on their own are no longer be acceptable. We are not making exceptions for fabric masks with filters. This will make sure all are following the same guidance, be easier for our staff to monitor, and surgical/KN95 masks are made to fit over nose and mouth well and provide extra protection.

Shalom Austin will continue to follow our current protocols until advised by local and regional experts that it is safe to relax them.

The following forms must be completed, signed and uploaded to complete your camper’s registration:

Per licensing requirements: Immunization records and the Physician’s Form must have a doctor’s stamp (including address) and authoring signature. Note: “My Chart” records without the aforementioned are not acceptable.

Yes! There will be a medical professional on campus during the camp day this summer.

Please be sure to read through the handbook to learn about all our camp protocols, health and safety measures, along with everything else you need to be fully ready for your first day of camp!

Is there Financial Aid available?

We believe everyone should have access to participate in our community, regardless of financial need. Awards of financial assistance are made possible for community members by generous contributions to the Shalom Austin Annual Campaign. Financial aid is distributed based on availability of funds and eligibility of your household. If you would like to learn more about financial aid, please reach out to us at

Do you provide lunch or snack?

While we do not provide daily food for campers, you have the option to purchase:

  • Daily catered lunch

JCamps is quite simply an extension of joyful activities Shalom Austin offers from the rest of the calendar year into the summer months. We know our kiddos are creating life-long friendships and wonderful memories while connecting to the community. It’s a healthy, safe and FUN summer – and we are even MORE excited to see all of the upgrades made this past year! We are thrilled our friends from all over the city – both Jewish and not! – join us at JCamps. Thank you to Jessica and the entire team for continuing to make magic happen. The Franklin Family

I love my friends at camp and singing songs. I like playing soccer and eating lunch. And I love Robyn [Burch] saying hi to me. JJ Frankin | Camper, 5 years old

Last summer I thought it would be fun for our girls to have some variety for camp so I signed them up for a gymnastics camp by my house every other session. BIG MISTAKE! Every morning that I dropped the girls off at gymnastics, they told me that they only wanted to go to JCamps next summer.
