CONNECTING PARENTS
Shalom Families facilitates and supports social events for parents in Austin. Every month, we organize events online, at the JCC and in neighborhoods throughout the Greater Austin area. You can go to events in your neighborhood or any other that works for you!
All About…. with Alachua
Shalom Austin’s Learning & Engagement Director hosts this series of classes to explore a Jewish holiday or a Jewish value. Alachua will share crafts, recipes, songs, books and more!

Parent Pop-In
Once a month, we will meet during lunch to spotlight a parenting topic and be guided in discussion by a local professional. Take a lunch break and join us.

Shabbat N’ Play
New parents and parents new to Austin can connect with others and learn about the Jewish parenting community while their children learn, play and make new friends.

Interfaith Parenting Circle
For parents of another religious or cultural background who are raising Jewish children, this group will create a comfortable space to learn about Jewish rituals and holidays while connecting with other parents who can relate to those experiences. Gain a great group of friends while delving into the rich traditions of Judaism, with plenty of laughter and support along the way.

Neighborhood Nosh
Meeting new people in your local area can be hard sometimes, especially a Jewish family. Neighborhood Nosh is a great way to meet new people in your local neighborhood. Once a quarter we have families volunteer to host a Sunday brunch, in their homes or local parks.

Shalom Village
Shalom Village, a supportive social group hosted by Shalom Families and Jewish Family Service, provides opportunities for new moms and dads to find their Jewish village. Shalom Village is a place where first time parents can connect while experiencing the ups and downs of having a newborn.

Speak & Schmooze
Speak and Schmooze is a program for parents to talk in a safe and warm environment about a variety of topics such as starting kindergarten, your relationship after having a child, and how to keep Judaism in the household.

Time Out
Take a break from the kids for an hour and come meet other parents on Sunday morning! This is a great way to connect with other parents and make new friends.

Early Childhood Program
From six weeks old to pre-k, the Zeifman Family Early Childhood Program (ECP) has a spot for your child(ren). The goal of ECP is to develop competent, happy, curious children.
