On January 13 the Dell Jewish Community Center opened the doors to its very first designated Spin Studio. Located on the second floor of the Dell Health & Wellness Center alongside the Group Exercise Studio and the Judy & Bill Waxman Mind/Body Studio, the new Spin Studio is the latest upgrade to the overall fitness and wellness program at the Dell JCC.

After closely watching the trends of indoor cycling classes post-COVID and seeing an increase in demand among members, the Dell JCC management team decided to create a space solely used for indoor cycling as they continue to grow and diversify the group exercise offering available at the J.

With eighteen brand-new Schwinn Z bikes featuring industry leading technology to measure and capture individual rider performance metrics, and color changing neon lights on the ceiling, the studio is designed to bring members a riding experience, and environment, that is comparable to what can be found at an upscale cycling studio while being accessible and convenient and at no extra cost.

This move will provide yet another way for the community to connect through fitness. The Dell JCC Fitness and Wellness Team says they are excited to build out a robust spin program. Classes will range from a focus on energy zones and heart rate training, to sprint intervals and climbs, and beat based rhythmic rides.

Over the next several months, Dell JCC members can expect to see more spin classes added to the Group Exercise class schedule. Additionally, more instructors are expected to join the team. To view the current schedule of all Group Exercise classes at the Dell JCC, visit shalomaustin.org/fitness.
