SWIM LESSONS FAQ’S

Why 2 days a week instead of 1?

The American Red Cross© recommends 8-10 classes per session for best results. By meeting twice a week this allows for reinforcement and review of skills from the previous lesson, and introduction of new skills in the same lesson, rather than all time being spent on review of forgotten skills. Children tend to progress faster with twice a week lessons.

Why did the price go up?
Last season we charged $90/month for 4 lessons, breaking down to $22.50 a lesson. Now that we are offering 8 lessons a month (with the exception of Fridays), we are charging $18 a lesson for a normal month costing $144. We will prorate fees for holidays and planned closures.
What if I miss a lesson?
Lessons cannot be made up, except for in the event of pool closure or instructor absence. If there is going to be an extended absence, please contact our Aquatics Program Manager on a case by case basis. In the event of a closure, we will do our best to make the lesson missed. If the lesson cannot be made up, we will issue a credit to the membership account. Once the lesson begins, it cannot be made up.
What is the cancelation policy?
Lessons may be canceled until registration closes, at Midnight the Thursday prior to classes starting. If you have an extenuating circumstance, please contact our Aquatics Program Manager on a case by case basis.
Why do I need to sign up every month?
This is a level based program and children’s abilities change and progress. By signing up each month it ensures that your child (or you) is exactly where they need to be. This also allows you to change your schedule monthly and have more flexibility in planning.

What if I miss the registration deadline?
While we cannot always accommodate late registrations, you can always email us at [email protected] to see if we have space!
What level do I sign up for?
Lesson Levels are by age and skill level to ensure that everyone learns as much as possible, has fun, and generally has the best experience possible. Please refer to the Course Fact Sheets & Skill Charts, or the descriptions in the lesson listings.
Can I request a specific instructor?
Unfortunately, no. We schedule instructors based on what and who they best teach, along with their availability. If you want a specific instructor, we recommend private swim lessons.
How can I sign up?
You can register online through your membership account, or in person!
