The Rochelle and Stanley Ferdman Family Aquatics Center will open late on Sunday, May 31 and Sunday June 7 at 2:30 PM and close early on Saturday, June 18 at 2:30 PM due to home swim meets.

Welcome to the new state of the art Rochelle and Stanley Ferdman Family Aquatic Center with the Lisa & Sandy Gottesman Pool!
All water facilities are 80-84 degrees year-round.

Lisa & Sandy Gottesman Pool

The pool is 8 lanes, 25 yards. It is designed for lap swimmers, campers, lessons and a variety of other programs.

Jennifer & Brad Greenblum Family Children’s Activity Pool

The children’s activity pool includes spray features, 5 dumping buckets, water tables and 2 youth slides.

 

Water Slides

Kids and adults of all ages can enjoy a large 30-foot slide tower with two slides, one enclosed and one open. Must be 48 inches tall to ride.

MEET THE AQUATICS LEADERSHIP

Morghyn Harper

Aquatics Director

Prior to joining the Dell JCC team, Morghyn worked as the Aquatics Director at the Greater Austin YMCA – COA/North Austin YMCA. Originally from Leavenworth, Kansas, and raised in Palestine, Texas, Morghyn attended the University of North Texas, where she earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences with a focus on Biomedical Engineering and Mathematics, as well as a Master of Science in Recreation, Event, and Sport Management. During her time at UNT, she served as the Graduate Assistant of Aquatics at the Pohl Recreational Center. Morghyn is a Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, CPR Instructor Trainer, Water Safety Instructor Trainer, and Certified Pool and Spa Operator. She brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for aquatic safety, education, and community engagement to her role at the JCC. She is excited to be part of the JCC community and looks forward to growing its exceptional programs. In her free time, you’ll likely find Morghyn enjoying a good book with a coffee in hand, hanging out with her cats (Grilled Cheese and Merlin), or exploring new places with her fiancé. 

Lizzie Rolls

Aquatics Program Specialist

Lizzie joined Shalom Austin in 2022 as a swim coach for the Piranhas swim team and is now the full-time Aquatics Coordinator. Lizzie’s love for swimming began at seven years old as a member on the JCC Piranhas swim team. She then went on to swim competitively at Anderson High School. In 2016 Lizzie became a USA certified swim coach in the North Austin Aquatic League. Lizzie will oversee many of the JCC’s aquatics programs including swim teams and swim lessons and provide operational support. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where she studied Recreation, Park, and Tourism Sciences. In her free time, Lizzie likes to read and play Mario games with her friends

Diego Salgado

Aquatics Operations Specialist

Diego joined Shalom Austin in August 2022. He has been active in aquatics since the age of 17, which led to a love for water. He has worked for a variety of waterparks, resorts, and aquatic facilities, including Loews Portofino Bay and SeaWorld Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida. Most recently, Diego was the Aquatics Manager at Center of Clayton in St. Louis, Missouri. With over 6 years of aquatics experience,  Diego brings extensive lifeguarding knowledge and a positive attitude to Shalom Austin as the Head Lifeguard.

Robert Johnson

Aquatics Program Manager

Robert is elated to join the team, bringing over a decade of coaching experience, extensive aquatic facility management expertise, and a lifelong love of the water. He has coached swimmers at all levels — from first-time competitors to elite athletes, including Sectionals and Junior Nationals qualifiers, Zones and TAGS finalists, High School and USA Swimming All-Americans, and US Masters National finalists. A firm believer that swimming is the ultimate lifetime sport, Robert combines technical expertise, facility safety, and a focus on fun and personal growth. A lifelong swimmer himself, he earned a scholarship to compete at Missouri State University. Robert holds certifications as a Lifeguard, Certified Pool Operator (CPO), USA Swimming Coach, and US Masters Swimming Coach. His operational expertise includes water quality management, staff development, emergency preparedness, and ensuring a safe, positive environment for swimmers and staff alike. Outside the pool, Robert enjoys hiking with his dog, playing sports, and spending time with friends and family. He is excited to share his passion, knowledge, and commitment to excellence to help every swimmer reach their full potential.

We are honored to be recognized through the new aquatic center. The new updates transform the space and create a unique, fun and relaxing environment to connect with others. The upgraded pool area is perfect for multi-generational gatherings, and we are excited to see how this center will be utilized by members of all ages in the future.
