WHY JCAMPS?

The JCamps experience is unlike any other that Central Texas has to offer. We welcome campers of all backgrounds and interests, and work hard to make sure there are ways for each camper to learn, grow and have a great time throughout the entire summer! We believe that campers from both Jewish and non-Jewish backgrounds alike can thrive within the cultural treasures that Judaism offers, and therefore base our philosophy on six points in order to mirror those of the Star of David.

Our 6-year-old son had a fantastic summer at JCamps. There was so much to love about the experience — from the variety of activities offered to the passion, hard work, and enthusiasm we saw each day from the counselors. What we loved most was the commitment to making JCamps an inclusive, fun, and positive experience where every child felt that they belonged — the staff and camp counselors were very intentional about this. It’s truly a wonderful experience and we cannot wait to be back to JCamps next year!

My two new campers had a really good time at the JCamps this year! Before signing up, I was super nervous about the swimming, because they’ve never been swimming without a parent/nanny there with them, but I felt reassured by [JCamps] safety practices, and they loved pool time. The gist of it is that [my daughter] was so excited to be old enough for her first summer at JCamps. While she was there she made a new friend. Later in August, we were doing a different camp where she was worried she wouldn’t know anyone, but we were lucky enough that [her friend] had registered for that same camp and they were so excited to see each other! Since then, we’ve had a playdate with the family and the kids have formed a lasting friendship.

Financial Aid

We believe everyone should have access to participate in our community, regardless of financial need. Awards of financial assistance are made possible for community members by generous contributions to the Shalom Austin Annual Campaign. Financial aid is distributed based on availability of funds and eligibility of your household.
